Number 34. Wind Power

When I opened my MSN homepage this morning, I was pleasantly surprised to see wind turbines in the “100 Things that are Getting Better”. It was actually number 34 (Actual quote and link below)!

34. Wind power
Change is in the air: We now produce enough wind power to run seven million homes. The goal is to generate 20 percent of our power from wind by 2030, which would mean a 25 percent reduction in CO2 emissions.

It was as I said a pleasant surprise to see wind power as getting better. I am a hopeless design eco enviromental change personality. I believe that all should be making an effort to reduce dependence on oil and oil,  but we should be self sufficient as well. I look forward to that day that we take advantage of enovation and trying to not only protect our environment, but ourselves as well.  And if we do it right we can make money too off our excess of wind power generated energy. My mission is to assist in having a million or so strong in t his effort. Won’t you join me!!!!!!!!!

In Times of Emergency/Disaster, Solar has been Known to be an Answer!

Solar back-up power is necessary at times of emergency and in an unfortunate disaster. Haiti is in need of solar powered generators and solar powered lighting including flashlights. While watching Hope for Haiti Now it was said that donations will be used to buy solar powered equipment. This has brought to light how important alternative energy solutions are in this day and age. And I am happy that such resources are available. The only thing that I wish is that some people weren’t trying to capitalize on it by over-overcharging. I read in the New York Times recently that charter planes are raising their prices to fly to Haiti from different parts of the world. This is atrocious.

While no energy source is 100% dependable, it is great to know that there are other options that are available. I do like the option of renewable energy resources such as solar, wind, hydro and others that do not cause harm to the eco system; some of which are portable and can be utilized in an emergency or in an unfortunate disaster.

I am also glad to donate and assist Haiti in their time of need. Thank you to all who could donate and/or pray. God bless you all.
